The provision of healthy and sustainable environments requires radically rethinking how we design, plan, create and operate genuinely sustainable developments. The success of a building in terms of sustainability outcomes is dependent on the decisions taken at the design, procurement and construction stages of a development and the actions taken at the post-completion, operational and end-of-life stages.
The NHSScotland Design Assessment Process (NDAP) was introduced in 2010 as a means of helping Boards describe a clear path between the business objectives for a project and the necessary qualities of the building development.
